When we had our house built eight years ago, my daughter was only nine years old. And I believe I made a major mistake when I had her bedroom designed like it was for a little princess who would never grow up at all. Shelves all around for her stuffed toys, and other girlie knick knacks dominated the room. And the paint color, of course, was pink.
Now, eight years after, my daughter is a grown 17-year old young lady and she just don’t have anymore need for the mounts of shelves for stuffed toys and other child stuff. Hence, the need to tear them down.
This is a lesson learned. If you are constructing or remodeling your children’s bedroom, make sure you make use of a more classic design, or if they insist on kiddie plans, just try to come up with designs that can easily be transformed by repainting or some minor refurbishing.
